The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was formed in 2010 to meet the aspirations of the nation to produce more professional human capital in the allied health sciences field. It seeks to nurture the next generation of leaders in the healthcare profession.
The Faculty focuses on programmes related to Physiotherapy, Biomedical Engineering Technology and Healthcare. These programmes are geared towards meeting the talent gaps in the Malaysian healthcare industry as identified by the Ministry of Health.
In support of the multidisciplinary team approach for healthcare delivery, the Faculty aims to continue growing and diversifying with a student-focused faculty and a wide range of academic interests.
Professor Dr Nasaruddin Abdul Aziz, an expert in Human Anatomy has been serving in academia for the past 27 years and is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Science at the University of Cyberjaya. Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin bin Abdul Aziz began his profession as a House Officer for 1 year and continued as a Medical Officer until the year 1990. He then served as a lecturer at UKM until the year 2000.
Prior to his appointment as Dean at the University of Cyberjaya, he held the Associate Professor’s post at UPM from 2001 until 2005. Prof. Dr Nasaruddin was appointed as a panel member of assessors for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency on 1st November 2007 in the field of Anatomy and Medicine. Prof Dr. Nasaruddin has also been an external examiner in several higher education institutions. With a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the field of research, Prof. Dr Nasaruddin supervised over 30 undergraduate and postgraduate research papers. He is also a prominent member of the IRPA Research Evaluation Panel at UPM.
