The ODL and APEL Centre will serve as the primary facilitator of the University of Cyberjaya’s strategic initiatives by recognising non-formal and informal learning, widening access to higher education, and promoting a culture of lifelong learning. The Centre will lead the development of innovative teaching and learning methodologies and support the adoption of contemporary pedagogical and technological innovations, while ensuring quality assurance and compliance with MQA standards. In collaboration with Faculties and Colleges, the Centre will deliver innovative academic and non-academic programmes to a broader spectrum of learners, thereby enhancing employability and supporting continuous professional growth among non-traditional and lifelong learners.
Focused Area
Learning Technology – Develop and administer the tools and systems necessary to enable an effective blended and borderless teaching and learning delivery that exceeds learner’s expectations including LMS, MOOC marketplace, online credentials and related tools.
Teaching & Learning Support - Develop the necessary opportunities to further enhance the University’s teaching & learning delivery and supporting students in this.
Lifelong & Executive Learning - Develop the necessary framework that would facilitate academic teams’ in supporting students learning beyond the classrooms.
Open & Distance Learning – Micro-credentials – Drive, guide and equip academic teams across the Group to transition existing programmes and develop new programmes within the MQA ODL and MC framework. Develop the necessary framework, policies and SOPs to govern the admission, delivery and award of ODL and Microcredential qualifications to learners.
Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) – Develop the necessary framework, policies and SOPs and to administer the Group’s acceptance of learners through the APEL A (Access), APEL C (Credit Award) and APEL Q (Qualifications) pathway.
