About the Centre
The Centre for Foundation, Languages and General Studies at the University of Cyberjaya was set up to provide Language and General Studies or MQA-required subjects for students enrolled across the other Faculties. The Centre also plays an important role in designing and developing bridging programmes for school leavers that have helped prepare them for university life. The Centre’s unique Pathfinder programme has been a major draw during the end-of-the-year school holiday and has helped scores of school students appreciate various career options.
In addition to general studies the Centre acts as an IELTS preparatory provider and offers several English Enhancement and IELTS Preparatory courses. The Centre also provides courses in other languages upon request.
The dedicated and highly experienced team at the Centre is committed to making this a centre of excellence in teaching and learning through efficient management and a conducive environment to achieve its educational objectives.
About the Director
Assistant Professor Eric Tang Cher Hing
Director
Asst. Prof. Eric Tang Cher Hing has been teaching degree and Pre-University programmes at UPM and UoC for more than 15 years. He is very passionate about engaging with students in teaching and learning activities, either with indoor learning or outdoor field trip experiences. Nurturing the Passion to Care with a holistic approach has always been his principle in teaching his students.
During his 11 years of service at UoC, he has been always searching for continuous improvement in his teaching skills and methods to ensure effective learning by the students. Due to his diversity of teaching skills and methods, he has received recognition from the University with the Teaching Excellence Award at the Citra Ilmu Award 2016. Besides his achievements in teaching, he is also actively involved in research activities. Due to his efforts in research, he also received the Best Research Presenter Award and Best Poster Research Award in 2017.
