Faculty members and students from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Design (FCAD) recently swapped screens and studios for tents and trees in a refreshing camping trip to Skycamp, Hulu Langat. Organised by the RANGGI Club (Real Arts Need a Good Grip of Imagination), the trip offered a well-deserved pause after a creatively intense semester.
Set against the backdrop of Hulu Langat’s peaceful greenery, the weekend gave students a chance to breathe, bond, and be inspired, reminding everyone that creativity isn’t confined to the classroom. Whether around the campfire or during riverside walks, the experience sparked new ideas, meaningful conversations, and a stronger sense of community within the faculty.
The trip also highlighted the importance of balance between work and rest, structure and spontaneity. As students return to their studios, they do so recharged and ready to take on their next creative challenge with renewed energy.
At FCAD, we believe creative growth doesn’t only happen behind a desk. It often begins outdoors, surrounded by nature and good company.
