The Indian Cultural Society (ICS), under the UoC Student Council, successfully hosted Cultural Day 2026, transforming the Grand Hall into a vibrant hub of cultural expression, student engagement and experiential learning under the theme “Feel the Culture, Live the Vibe”.

The initiative provided students with a valuable platform for experiential learning and personal development, where they gained hands-on exposure to real-world event coordination, communication and teamwork. Student organisers took on key responsibilities in logistics, performance coordination and programme execution, strengthening employability skills such as leadership, problem-solving and organisation.

The celebration featured a dynamic mix of traditional and contemporary performances, including the Kuthuvilakku lighting ceremony, Kathakali, Kathi Sandai, singing, dance and fusion acts. These performances reflected the creativity, confidence and cultural appreciation of the student community while promoting inclusivity and active campus engagement.

Through active participation, students gained practical experience aligned with industry expectations, particularly in collaboration, adaptability and effective communication within diverse teams. This supports the UoC’s commitment to producing future-ready graduates equipped with both academic knowledge and professional skills.

The programme was further enriched by special guest appearances from Balan Kashmir, Shabby, Karthik Mohan, the Irumbuth Thottham movie crew, and others, creating meaningful engagement and memorable experiences for students.

Cultural Day 2026 reflects the UoC’s commitment to holistic education, where student-led initiatives integrate cultural appreciation with skill development and career readiness. It highlights how co-curricular involvement plays a key role in shaping confident, capable and employable graduates.

The UoC extends its appreciation to the Indian Cultural Society (ICS), student organisers and all participants for their dedication in delivering a successful celebration of culture, unity and student development.
