Foundation in Science
(Medicine/Pharmacy)
KPT/JPS (R2/010/3/0250) 09/24 (A6527)
This programme is designed as a pathway for students to pursue a degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental Surgery or other medical courses. The courses offered are specifically tailored for direct progression to the undergraduate programmes. Students are exposed to a pre-university environment with the opportunity to interact with other students and the wider community through socially conscious student events and activities.
Affective Domain
We provide a holistic learning experience that emphasizes on professional ethics and values. These are cultivated throughout a student’s study by means of reflection sessions, peer, self and mentor feedback to ensure an all rounded assessment.
Extracurricular Opportunities
To provide a rich university experience, the University works with various student clubs and societies. Our collaboration with MERCY Malaysia in forming a Young Mercy programme is unique among the universities in Malaysia as it allows our students to experience volunteer relief operations first hand and sharpen their organizational and leadership skills.
Teaching Facilities
The University has over 30 different science laboratories for basic sciences subjects as well as specialized research laboratories such as Pharmacognosy Lab, Simulated Aseptic Room, Medical Sciences Lab, Biomedical Engineering Lab and Bioequivalance Drug Lab among others. All these laboratories are fully equipped to ensure students are properly trained using relevant and up-to-date technology.
The university library specializes in the collection of healthcare references. Materials available in the library are also focused on subjects offered by the Faculties including Biochemistry, Neurology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Physiology, Cardiology, Psychiatry etc. The library holds approximately 13,000 titles of physical books and thousands more e-journals and multimedia collection.

Got a question for us?
What are our students saying?
I found the Foundation programme at CUCMS to be unique as it is the only course which emphasized on the concept of Affective Domain which is a module by itself. The university has stayed true to its objectives of shaping ethical professionals with positive attitude and to produce holistic individuals rather than just focusing solely only on the cognitive aspect of learning. As part of the learning process, students are given the opportunity to organize activities and outreach programmes as part of our learning. This program had prepared me thoroughly for my undergraduate degree. Aside from that, the facilities here are comprehensive and up-to-date.
