The University of Cyberjaya, through the Counselling Unit under the Student Experience & Support Department (SESD), organised a Student Engagement Visit to the Beautiful Malaysia Art Exhibition 2026, held at Intermark Mall, Kuala Lumpur. The initiative provided students with an enriching platform to explore art, culture, and personal well-being through experiential learning.

The visit aimed to support student well-being through creative expression and meaningful reflection. Students were immersed in Malaysia’s artistic diversity, including works by persons with disabilities, which highlighted themes of resilience, identity, and emotional strength. A key highlight of the programme was the batik painting workshop, where students actively engaged in traditional art-making, fostering creativity and relaxation in a hands-on learning environment.

The exhibition also featured Art on Wheels, interactive workshops, and awareness talks, creating a holistic cultural experience that extended learning beyond the classroom.

A key highlight of the engagement was the sharing session by Michael Chan, an architect known for his contributions to iconic developments such as the TRX Tower. He offered students valuable insight into how architecture can shape communities while reflecting creativity, vision, and purpose. His journey demonstrated how innovation and art intersect in meaningful ways, inspiring students to appreciate the broader impact of design and built environments.

Another impactful session was led by Madam Rita Hatta, founder of Art Market Malaysia. As a stroke survivor and entrepreneur, her story of resilience and determination deeply resonated with students. She shared her journey of building a platform that empowers artists and promotes inclusivity, including support for differently-abled communities. Her involvement in batik workshops and the wider art ecosystem highlighted the power of transforming challenges into meaningful contributions.

Overall, the visit reflected the University of Cyberjaya’s commitment to holistic student development by integrating creativity, culture, and well-being. The experience encouraged students to reflect, connect, and grow through art and shared human stories.
