University of Cyberjaya: 15 Years of Success
The University of Cyberjaya (UoC) or previously known as Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS), marked its 15 years of success in Malaysia’s private education landscape. The institution was established in 2005 at Cyberjaya, Malaysia’s first smart city. It is a modern, fully equipped, green-friendly campus that is surrounded by lush greeneries to foster a serene and conducive environment for student living and learning.
The University of Cyberjaya holds a SETARA 5-Star rating by the Ministry of Education which was awarded back in 2017. The University was also recently awarded a 5-Star rating for the categories in Teaching, Facilities, Employability and Inclusiveness under the QS Stars programme produced by the publishers of the QS World University Rankings. The University currently offers more than 30 programmes including foundation, diploma, degree, masters and doctorate level postgraduate research courses in a wide range of disciplines including medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, cosmetics, psychology, physiotherapy, homeopathic medical sciences, biomedical engineering technology, and business among others.
In terms of academic reputation, the University has been a proud pioneer in the educational field. The University is known regionally for its 5-year medical sciences programme including the postgraduate research programmes too. In fact, University of Cyberjaya’s medical programme is recognised by the international repute councils such as the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Maldives Medical & Dental Council (MMDC). Moreover, it is a leading institution on par with other healthcare schools and is one of the very few Malaysian universities with a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy. Best of all, University of Cyberjaya is the only Malaysian university offering a Doctor of Pharmacy programme.
The University prides itself for its Psychology faculty that has gained international recognition by the Commonwealth’s Colombo Plan secretariat for its postgraduate programmes. In addition, it is also a partner of choice for the Malaysian Ministry of Health in developing programmes for the complementary and traditional medicine field as the University is the only institution in South East Asia to provide an accredited homeopathic medical sciences degree.
The University of Cyberjaya is also recognised by the World Medical Directory of Medical Schools which is supported by the World Health Organisation and has developed a partnership with the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
