Staff and Students Win Prizes for Merdeka Guess and Win Contest at Delish Cafeteria

It was an exciting 2 weeks when staff and students were given the chance to participate in a contest hosted by Delish Cafeteria’s brand-new cafeteria management, Dapur Brahim’s by Desatera Sdn. Bhd in conjunction with the Merdeka season.

The contest which ran from 29th August to 9th September required staff and students to participate by purchasing goods at the café with no minimum amount, and then submitting their answer of how many flags there were inside the cafeteria.

To honour the winners of the contest, Dapur Brahim’s hosted a luncheon for shortlisted participants on the 13th of September at Delish Cafeteria.

The event was graced by Dapur Brahim’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Paduka Feizal Nor Nurbi and University of Cyberjaya Chief Regulatory Officer, Dato’ Hj Abd Rashid. Other dignitaries from Desatera Sdn Bhd included Chief Operating Officer, En. Abdul Karim Yusof, Regional Manager, En. Zanal Abdin, and Performance Management Manager, Hj Shahuri Daud.

A total of 430 staff and students participated in the contest, however the nearest answer given was 234. The correct number of flags at the cafeteria were 233.

The lucky draw ballot which was drawn by both Dato' Paduka Feizal Nor Nurbi and Dato' Hj Abd Rashid featured exciting prizes. They include 5 hampers worth RM50.00, 3 hampers worth RM100.00, a 2D1N stay at KIP Hotel, Kuala Lumpur as the second prize and an Apple iPad (9th generation) as the grand prize.

The lucky student winner of the grand prize was Ayuni Baiduri Binti Saufi, Year 2 Diploma in Psychology student. “I guessed a total number of 234 flags, but I am so thrilled to have won the contest and am grateful for receiving the iPad from Dapur Brahim’s. It will definitely help to reduce the weight of my bag as my laptop is heavy. Due to its size and portability, I can take notes, download lesson slides, and study pretty much anywhere with ease,” she said.

Winner of one of the hampers worth RM100.00, Pang Ann Qi, Year 1 Bachelor of Psychology student said, “I didn’t expect to win at all! I spent around 10 minutes counting the flags after my classes and submitted my answers twice.”

Dapur Brahim’s by Desatera Sdn. Bhd is expected to continue hosting exciting competitions throughout the year during festivals such as Deepavali and Christmas. The University hopes that staff and students make good memories participating in the events organised by Dapur Brahim’s.
