Cyberjaya, 25 April – The University of Cyberjaya welcomed Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini binti Ahmad, on 25 April 2024, as she officiated the opening of the University of Cyberjaya Welcome Centre and attended the vibrant Raya celebrations on campus. This significant event underscores the University’s dedication to offering comprehensive support and guidance to its students and education counsellors, reaffirming its commitment.

Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. R. Palan, Pro-Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya, stated, “The establishment of our Welcome Centre signifies a milestone for our University. It serves as a beacon of guidance and support for both our students and education counsellors alike. The primary purpose of this centre is to provide invaluable assistance to education counsellors in helping students navigate the labyrinth of career choices and academic pursuits.”

Following the official ceremonies, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini was treated to a showcase of student performances and indulged in traditional Raya delicacies at the Grand Hall of the University.

Amidst the celebratory atmosphere, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini expressed her support for the University’s initiatives: "The first 8 years of a child’s life is crucial for brain development. During the early childhood stage, their learning and development in terms of mental, emotional, and social aspects are highly critical. This is why early childhood education is considered a significant investment for parents for their children.”

“However, until now, only 27 per cent of private preschool teachers have a diploma in early childhood education. In this regard, I would like to congratulate the University of Cyberjaya for achieving not only remarkable accomplishments in the field of health but also in education and innovation,” she added.

The University of Cyberjaya recently launched its first series of programmes for Early Childhood Education, with diploma and degree options. The programmes are designed to nurture professional educators, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to foster the development of young minds and ultimately shape them into strong and capable leaders for the future.

University of Cyberjaya remains steadfast in its commitment to guiding SPM leavers towards their dreams, empowering them to make informed decisions that will shape their future and lead them to success.
