Cyberjaya University College to Pioneer Biomedical Engineering Innovation in Collaboration with DreamEdge, a Top-Notch Engineer Firm
Cyberjaya, 7th November 2017 – On a journey towards healthcare innovation, Cyberjaya University College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in collaboration with DreamEDGE Sdn. Bhd. Present at the ceremony was President of Cyberjaya University College, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak, Deputy President of Academic Affairs & Internalisation and Research & Commercialization (AIARC), Professor Dato’ Dr. Shaharuddin Mohd, Deputy President of Student Affairs & Alumni, Professor Dr. Abdul Latiff and DreamEDGE Chief Executive Officer (CEO), En. Khairil Adri Adnan along with other representatives.
The Memorandum sought to establish a smart partnership between Cyberjaya University College and DreamEDGE in areas of medical sciences and technology. DreamEDGE Sdn. Bhd will be working together with Cyberjaya UC to provide industrial training platforms for students to gain exposure and develop innovative ways towards the advancement of the Biomedical engineering field.
The MoU also served as a connecting bridge to develop joint researches for the development of modern technology and to facilitate the usage of research equipment and facilities to produce advanced medical equipment. Besides that, it is also to encourage the exchange of technical information among research personnel between both institutions.
“It is important to create an innovative culture which focuses on the cultivation and innovation of brand new ideas to expand and improvise the Biomedical Engineering field”, urged Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak.
Also in discussion were innovation ideas of an Autonomous Wheelchair which can self-mobilize, has ergonomic characteristics and a Diabetic Foot Infection Diagnosis which functions to read and detect bacteria within seconds, is easy to operate, reliable and user-friendly. Both parties are also in discussion on the modification of Bionics, which functions to replace amputated limbs and Bio sensing technology to detect blood pressure and other symptomless diseases.
President of Cyberjaya University College, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak mentioned that “Biomedical engineering students should be given opportunities to be involved in innovative researches before graduating.” Adding to that, he said, “It is important to create an innovative culture which focuses on the cultivation and innovation of brand new ideas to expand and improvise the existing body of knowledge.”
