The Faculty of Health, University of Cyberjaya, continues to strengthen its position as a forward-thinking faculty in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education, following a recent public lecture titled “AI Ready University: Responsible AI for Teaching, Careers and Workforce Transformation.” The session forms part of the University’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital transformation in higher education, enhancing the student learning experience, and preparing graduates for the demands of an AI-driven global workforce.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of D-Ready and a globally recognised expert in Agentic AI and Responsible AI. Drawing on more than 30 years of leadership experience in AI research and innovation, he shared practical insights on how universities can build AI-ready institutions, align academic programmes with evolving industry needs, and prepare graduates with the skills required for an AI-driven workforce.

Organised in collaboration with the Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Association (ATAS), Taylor’s University, Asia e University, and the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), and supported by the Cyberjaya Education Group Berhad Talent Development Office, the hybrid session attracted 98 registrants from 50 institutions and organisations. This strong participation reflects growing regional demand for responsible AI education, AI governance in universities, and future-ready teaching and learning approaches across higher education institutions.

Throughout the lecture, emphasis was placed on integrating responsible AI into teaching and learning to ensure students develop not only technical knowledge but also the critical thinking and ethical awareness required in an AI-driven world. The discussion explored the importance of AI literacy, responsible AI adoption, and managing challenges such as bias and hallucinations in higher education.

The session also highlighted AI's role in enhancing productivity, graduate employability, and workforce readiness. By embedding responsible AI practices into education, universities can better prepare graduates to meet evolving industry demands while driving innovation in teaching, learning, and academic transformation.

A key message from the session was that universities must move beyond the adoption of AI tools and instead focus on building a sustainable, ethical, and AI-ready higher education ecosystem that supports innovation in teaching, learning, and graduate development.

This initiative further reinforces the Faculty of Health’s commitment to producing future-ready graduates equipped with digital competencies, leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in technology-driven industries.
