Campus Shield Day: Safety Starts With Us brought together staff and students in a meaningful campus wide initiative focused on awareness, wellbeing and shared responsibility.

The event took place at the UG Foyer and Welcome Centre, where a series of interactive booths, educational exhibits, and engaging talks created a dynamic environment focused on personal safety, health and wellness, digital responsibility, mental health awareness, and emergency preparedness. Designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, the initiative provided participants with practical knowledge and real-world insights that are essential in today’s rapidly evolving environment.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of various agencies and organisations that contributed their expertise. IPD Sepang led awareness efforts on scam-related crimes, general criminal activities, and traffic offences, alongside delivering an informative session on rising cybercrime threats. The National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) reinforced the importance of drug abuse prevention through its awareness booth, while Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Sepang engaged participants on the dangers of smoking and vaping, supported by informative talks.

Mental health awareness was also a central focus, with the Malaysian Mental Health Association offering both a talk and an interactive booth to encourage open conversations and reduce stigma. Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) further complemented these efforts by highlighting mental health awareness among teenagers and providing health screening services for participants. In addition, the University of Cyberjaya Disciplinary Board Committee played a vital role in reinforcing awareness of the student code of conduct, emphasising the importance of accountability and responsible behaviour within the campus community.

The series of hourly panel talks sparked meaningful discussions on key issues such as scam prevention, anti-smoking and anti-vaping awareness, and mental health. These sessions encouraged participants to reflect on their daily choices and empowered them to adopt safer, healthier, and more responsible lifestyles.

Campus Shield Day reflects the University of Cyberjaya’s continued commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and informed campus environment. The active participation of students and staff, together with the valuable contributions from partner organisations, has strengthened a culture of care, awareness, and collective responsibility across the university.

Through initiatives like this, the University of Cyberjaya continues to champion holistic education, ensuring that its community is not only academically equipped but also prepared to navigate real-world challenges with confidence and awareness.
