Bridging Academia and Industry at the UoC X Sparkup Campus Career Fair

The University of Cyberjaya recently hosted the UoC X Sparkup Campus Career Fair, a vibrant initiative aimed at strengthening students’ employability and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The event was organised by the Industry Engagement and Graduate Employability Department (IEGE), University of Cyberjaya, in collaboration with Sparkup Sdn Bhd, bringing together students and leading industry partners in a focused and engaging career development platform.

Held at the Level 4 Grand Hall, the career fair provided students from various disciplines with the opportunity to interact directly with employers and gain valuable exposure to real-world career pathways. The event created a professional environment that encouraged meaningful networking, knowledge sharing, and exploration of future job opportunities.

A diverse range of organisations participated in the event, including C&K Wealth Planner Sdn Bhd, CARING Pharmacy Retail Management Sdn Bhd, HCL Tech Sdn Bhd, J. S. One Sdn Bhd, PERKESO, Setel Ventures Sdn. Bhd., Smartstripe Marketing Pte Ltd, Thomson Hospital, and Watson. Their involvement offered students insights into multiple industries such as healthcare, finance, technology, insurance, and retail.

The event featured walk-in interviews, career talks, resume clinics, and personalised career advisory sessions. Students also benefited from complimentary resume reviews by Sparkup, helping them improve their application quality and enhance employability prospects. These activities supported students in building confidence, improving communication skills, and preparing for the competitive job market.

Beyond career opportunities, the fair encouraged students to take a proactive approach to career planning, engage professionally with employers, and expand their professional networks. The smart casual dress code further reinforced a professional yet approachable atmosphere.
