The event was organised by the Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA) with an aim to enhance the quality of students’ research projects and to provide recognition to innovative research projects.

The effort is aligned with the competition’s slogan, “Transforming Creativity into a Scientific Research Knowledge”. Seven universities took part in the competition namely, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Kebangsaan, University Kuala Lumpur and many more.

Datin Mariani Ahmad Nizaruddin, MyPSA advisor said, “Research is important as students exercise their problem solving and critical analysis skills when investigating issues and problems. Research competitions are a platform to share with peers and the community their findings and improve confidence and communications skills”.

At the NPRC 2018, Nur Asyiqin Masenwat, a final year Bachelor of Pharmacy student from CUCMS was named as the winner for the Social Impact Policy Award and the 1st runner-up for the Education in Pharmacy and Health Sciences category. CUCMS encouraged our staff and students to conduct more research and help boost the development of pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. There are a few initiatives by the university to support researchers such as Halal Research Centre, CUCMS Research Grant, CUCMS Research Week and many more.
