10 December 2025 — As part of its commitment to sustainability and climate action, the University of Cyberjaya organised a Climate Fresk Workshop on 10 December 2025, in conjunction with Day 3 of SDG Week 2025. Held at Level UG, University of Cyberjaya, the workshop was organised by the University of Cyberjaya SDG Committee 2025.

The interactive workshop aimed to strengthen climate literacy and encourage participants to develop a deeper understanding of climate change through collaborative learning and systems thinking. Using the Climate Fresk card-based methodology, participants worked together to explore the causes, mechanisms and consequences of climate change, connecting scientific evidence with real-world environmental and societal impacts.

Through group discussions and collaborative activities, participants examined the complex relationships within the climate system and reflected on how environmental challenges affect individuals, communities and institutions. The session also introduced practical climate mitigation strategies at individual, institutional and societal levels, encouraging participants to consider how meaningful changes can contribute to a more sustainable future.

Bringing together students and staff from different faculties, the workshop provided a platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue, knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving. It also highlighted the importance of shared responsibility and informed decision-making in addressing climate challenges.

Beyond raising awareness, the Climate Fresk Workshop contributed to strengthening teamwork, critical thinking and participants' confidence in taking climate action. Students gained a clearer systems-based understanding of climate change, while academic and staff participants had opportunities to exchange perspectives on integrating sustainability into teaching, learning and university operations.

The initiative directly supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action, by building climate literacy and encouraging informed mitigation decisions. It also advances SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration and knowledge exchange across faculties, while supporting SDG 4: Quality Education through participatory, evidence-based learning. Through initiatives such as the Climate Fresk Workshop, the University of Cyberjaya continues to encourage a culture of sustainability, environmental awareness and collective responsibility within its university community. The programme reinforces the importance of empowering individuals with the knowledge and understanding needed to contribute towards a more sustainable and climate-conscious society.
