Kuala Lumpur, 7th July 2023 – University of Cyberjaya (UoC) is thrilled to announce an exciting new strategic partnership with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM). This partnership is all about coming together, promoting cooperation, and working hand in hand to support education, mental health, and professional development.

Together, UoC and BAM will be tackling some key areas:

Industrial Training & Partnership Placement: BAM will provide UoC's students with some cool industrial training opportunities and partnership placements. This means real-world experiences and a chance to level up their skills in the sports industry.

Psychoeducation and Mental Health Program Awareness: UoC is stepping up to help BAM establish a Mental Health Unit. This means spreading the word about mental health, providing some helpful programmes, and building up the well-being and resilience of BAM's athletes.

The partnership between UoC and BAM creates a supportive environment that nurtures personal growth, mental well-being, and kicks athletic excellence up a notch.

"We are excited to embark on this strategic partnership with the Badminton Association of Malaysia," said Professor Dr. Zabidi Hussin, Vice Chancellor of University of Cyberjaya. "Through our collaboration, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of young athletes by providing them with comprehensive support, professional training, and mental health services. Together, we will empower these students to excel both academically and athletically."

Datuk V. Subramaniam, Deputy President 1 cum Selangor BA President, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are eager to get this partnership going and we look forward to working closely with the University of Cyberjaya. We are aware that having taken young players under our care and away from their family environment, our responsibility goes beyond providing them with good badminton training. Our players will benefit extensively from psychoeducation, mental health awareness programmes, as well as cognitive health testing and assessment services provided by UOC.”

The University of Cyberjaya and the Badminton Association of Malaysia are thrilled to jump into this journey together. By combining their strengths, both organisations are poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of BAM's students and contribute to the growth of the Malaysian badminton community.
