The University of Cyberjaya (UoC), in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of India and the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), successfully hosted the 4th International Conference on Integrative Chemistry, Biology, Translational Medicine and Health (ICBTMH2025) today at its campus in Cyberjaya.
The event, themed "Bridging Science for Global Health Solutions," was officiated by YB Dato Lukanisman Bin Awang Sauni, Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia, who underscored Malaysia’s dedication to advancing global health through integrative research and technological innovation.
In his opening address, YB Dato Lukanisman stated, "Artificial Intelligence is now a force multiplier in diagnosing diseases, personalising treatment plans, managing patient data, and predicting health trends. Coupled with the integrative power of chemistry, biology, and translational medicine, it is enabling us to develop next generation therapeutics that are not only effective but also accessible.”
He added, ”Malaysia welcomes and encourages such AI-driven biomedical innovation. In fact, as we steer our healthcare system toward a more value-based model, embracing these technologies will be vital in improving efficiency, expanding access to underserved populations, and reducing the overall burden on our healthcare infrastructure."
The ceremony was also graced by prominent guests, including Dr. Montu Kumar Patel, President of the Pharmacy Council of India, and Dr. Vignesvari Subramaniam, Deputy Director (Medical), National Cancer Society Malaysia.
A key highlight of the conference was the signing of two significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU):
The conference featured keynote speakers from internationally renowned experts such as Professor Conor R. Caffrey (University of California San Diego, USA), Professor Dr. Deependra Singh (Pharmacy Council of India), and Dr. Lakshmanan Manikandan (A*STAR, Singapore), who addressed breakthrough advancements in drug discovery, pharmaceutical innovations, and cancer therapeutics.
UoC Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. David Whitford, expressed optimism about the outcomes: “This conference not only reinforces UoC’s position in global health sciences but also strengthens our strategic partnerships, advancing our shared vision of enhancing global healthcare solutions.”
ICBTMH2025 concluded with robust plenary sessions and discussions, providing valuable insights into emerging health technologies and setting the stage for future international collaboration.
