Cyberjaya, 4th September 2023 – The University of Cyberjaya is proud to announce its remarkable achievement in receiving the prestigious Berdaya Saing (Competitive) ranking in the Integrated Rating of Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (Setara) 2022. This recognition, granted by the Ministry of Higher Education, solidifies the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education and its resilience during challenging times.

Setara 2022, which assessed a total of 104 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia, introduced a streamlined assessment system, focusing on 2 categories: competitive and advanced. This adjustment considered the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on HEI management, ensuring a fair evaluation of institutions’ performance. The assessment exclusively relied on data from 2021, taking into account the challenges posed by the pandemic. These assessments are based on well-defined indicators and instruments aimed at driving continuous improvement in the quality of education.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zabidi Hussin said: “The University of Cyberjaya is honoured to receive the Berdaya Saing ranking in Setara 2022. The pandemic brought a lot of change in the education scene, and the resilience of our staff and students who were able to adapt to these changes demonstrated their dedication to ensuring uninterrupted learning and growth despite unprecedented challenges.”

In addition to this ranking, the university also holds an overall rating of 5 stars by QS. This aside from 5 stars received for specific categories for Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Internationalisation, Facilities, Social Responsibility, Inclusiveness, and Specialist Criteria (MBBS).

The University of Cyberjaya offers various programmes for school leavers and working adults in the fields of medicine, health sciences, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, education, psychology, creative arts and design, physiotherapy, homoeopathic medical sciences, business and IT and biomedical technology engineering, among others.

To help students who do not have enough credits in SPM, the university, through its affiliate institution, Cyberjaya College Central, offers a Certificate in Science, alongside certificates in business studies, and information technology, as well as a Diploma in Healthcare.

The University of Cyberjaya remains steadfast in its commitment to providing the best in higher education. As the university celebrates this achievement, it looks forward to continuing the journey towards creating a brighter and more promising future for students and the global community.
