The Sacred Structures Collection is a collection of more than 300 works of art produced by 16 Malaysian artists
The exhibition titled Sacred Structures: The Journey Continues, displaying 88 artworks, of temples in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and England produced by 12 artists - Chong Hon Fatt, Lee Weng Fatt, Nirmala Karuppiah, Stephen Menon, Jeganathan Ramachandram, Long Thien Shih ,Peter Liew, Tham Siew Inn, Lai Loong Sung, Maamor Jantan, Soh Chee Hui and Victor Chin using various media including pen and ink, water color, acrylic on rice paper, oil on canvas and photography.
The inauguration was officiated by Tan Sri Dato' Dr. R. Palan, Pro-Chancellor of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) on 12th July 2017 at Creative Space 3, National Art Gallery.
Prof. Dr. Krishna Gopal Rampal, Director of CUCMS’ Centre for Graduate Studies was proud when his personal art collection was open to the public recently at the National Art Gallery.
The exhibition is being curated by Stephen Menon based on The Sacred Structures Collections belong to Prof. Dr and Mrs Krishna Gopal Rampal from their interest both in art and Hindu temples.
The Sacred Structures Collection is a collection of more than 300 works of art produced by 16 Malaysian artists over the last 13 years. The first exhibition, from the Sacred Structures Collections, was held at Malaysia Heritage Trust in 2007.
Prof. Dr. Rampal’s travel to seek other places to find sacred structures mainly temple with his wife and artist resulting in the collections. To him, this is a way of sharing the majestic temple creation with everyone.
The exhibition on view from 8th July 2017 until 30th July 2017 at Creative Space 3, National Art Gallery and the admission is free.
