University of Cyberjaya Forges Partnership with Siti Healthcare to Improve Graduate Employability in the Healthcare Industry

Cyberjaya, 24th February 2022 – In an effort to improve graduate employability in the healthcare industry, the University of Cyberjaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siti Healthcare Sdn Bhd, a private healthcare business that manages a network of 25 clinics around the Klang Valley.

The agreement was signed today by Professor Dato’ Dr. Shaharuddin Mohd, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Experiences and Global Engagement (SEGE) of University of Cyberjaya and Chairman of Siti Healthcare, Dato’ Sri Dr. Muhammad Ali bin Datuk Dr. Yahya and was witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainol Akbar Bin Zainal, Director of Student Experience & Global Engagement (SEGE) Division, as well as the President and Vice President of the Malaysian Association of Medical Assistants, who are Hj. Mustafa bin Abd Majid and Hj. Mansor J.A. Fenner@Aziz respectively.

The objective of the MoU is to establish a joint cooperation in the areas of training, career opportunities and advancement, and other related activities specifically for Diploma in Medical Assistant students and graduates. This initiative helps to support students in getting internships, industrial trainings, hospital attachments and clinical postings.

Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak, Vice Chancellor of University of Cyberjaya said, “This MoU is a great opportunity for our medical assistant students and graduates to be a part of as Siti Healthcare prioritises healthcare services to communities that have trouble accessing medical care. This is in-line with our mission that focuses on teaching our students to serve the community while learning to sharpen their skills and expertise.”

This is exemplified in the University’s Diploma in Medical Assistant programme students who were a part of the healthcare vaccinators servicing the community at PPV Jenjarum, PPV KLCC and Wound Care Centre St. John Ambulance Melaka Tengah last year.

The accredited Diploma in Medical Assistant (DMA) programme at the University of Cyberjaya is recognised by the Medical Assistant Board of the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Graduates of this course will be eligible to obtain employment as Medical Assistants or Assistant Medical Officers (AMO) in public hospitals and private medical centres.
