MAGNIFIQUE: FIART Got Talent Showcase 2026 (Part II)

The Grand Hall of the University of Cyberjaya was recently filled with an atmosphere of courage and excitement as it hosted MAGNIFIQUE: FIART Got Talent Showcase 2026 (Part II). Held on Monday, 20 July 2026, this landmark event served as the final experiential learning project for Foundation in Arts (FIART) students enrolled in the FSEU1011 Self Development course.

Anchored by the inspiring tagline, ‘Enter the Unknown, Exit Magnificent,’ the showcase celebrated the brave journey students take when stepping outside of their comfort zones. It highlighted the grit required to face self-doubt, embrace creative challenges, and emerge from the stage more confident and self-assured than ever.

Opening Remarks

The afternoon commenced with warm welcome remarks by Assoc. Prof. Eric Tang Cher Hing, Director of the Centre for Foundation, Language & General Studies (CFLGS). Expressing his excitement, he shared how eager he was to see what this newly joined batch of students would bring to the stage, wishing them an unforgettable experience as they took on the challenge.

Following this, Prof. Dr. Azrin Esmady Ariffin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), delivered an inspiring opening speech. He admitted his pleasant surprise at seeing another FIART Got Talent showcase come to life just a few months after Metamorfosis. Highlighting the significance of the Self Development course, he emphasised that the key objectives of the event such as building confidence, teamwork, and self-awareness are vital milestones that students will carry forward throughout their academic and personal journeys.

A Day of Talent and Expert Adjudication

The stage came alive with dynamic student performances showcasing diverse talents, creative collaborations, and inspiring expressions of personal growth. Evaluating these performances was an esteemed panel of judges:

• Mdm. Nurhafizah Shaharuddin – Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences (FPSS) (Head Judge)
• Mdm. Khairol Zahiera Binti Khairol Azmi – Lecturer, Faculty of Business & Technology (FOBT)
• Mr. Muhammad Aliff Ali Bin Che Abas – Lecturer, Centre for Foundation, Language and General Studies (CFLGS)

Highlights from the Stage

A unique highlight of MAGNIFIQUE was the active mentor-student collaboration, where mentors guided and participated alongside students to nurture stronger connections and enrich the performance experience.

The stage came alive with an unforgettable line-up of creative acts:

• Dragon and Elves (Champion): Took top honours with a profound narrative about stepping into the unknown. As the main character journeyed through uncharted territory, meeting characters endowed with unique superpowers, he ultimately discovered a deeper understanding of himself. Their performance stood out with costumes, props, high-energy dance breaks between scenes, and a powerful underlying message for the audience.
• Time Trebblers (Runner-Up): Secured a well-deserved second place with an electric voyage through time. Dancing seamlessly across generations, from the roaring 70s all the way to an undiscovered future era, their swift costume changes and infectious groove kept the entire hall fully immersed.
• D’ Whimsey Crew (3rd Place): Captured third place with an emotionally resonant storyline following a main character torn between negative and positive inner voices before finally embracing self-acceptance. Their uplifting rendition and choreography to "This Is Me" delivered an truly inspiring moment for everyone present.
• The Ozians, Aura and Axis, & The Reveries: Kept the audience thoroughly entertained with a dynamic mix of theatrical concepts, ranging from a spirited lip-sync tribute to the musical Wicked, to creative scene interpretations of the Malaysian fantasy film Magika, and sweeping song-and-dance numbers inspired by La La Land.
• Special Acts (Winx & The Groove Street): Delivered by final-semester FIART students, these special performances set an exhilarating tone for the showcase, serving as a high-spirited opening and closing to cheer on and support their juniors on stage.

And the Winners Are...

After a series of extraordinary performances, the top honours were awarded to:

Champion (1st Place) - Dragon and Elves

Runner-up (2nd Place) - Time Trebblers

Third Place (3rd) - D’ Whimsey Crew

Community Support and Appreciation

The event was supported by a vibrant audience of CFLGS family members, lecturers, students, and parents who travelled to cheer on the performers. The MAGNIFIQUE 2026 Showcase (Part II) was far more than a talent competition; it stood as a powerful testament to experiential learning, collaboration, and the limitless potential of our FIART students.
