Life as a student isn’t always easy. Between assignments, exams, and the many challenges that come your way, it’s natural to sometimes feel stressed or overwhelmed. Recognising this, the University of Cyberjaya’s Counselling Unit initiated and coordinated “Breathe In: A Mindful Reset” in collaboration with Miss Melanie Chuah, creating a meaningful platform to reach out to the wider UoC community, staff and students alike offering them the space to slow down, reflect, and recharge.
The session was led by the inspiring Melanie Chuah Siew Mooi, who gently guided students through exploring their emotions, learning to be kinder to themselves, and practising mindfulness techniques that can be applied in everyday life. The atmosphere was calm and supportive, offering a safe space where everyone could simply breathe, be present, and reconnect with themselves.
One of the biggest takeaways from the workshop? Your well-being matters. At UoC, success is not only measured by grades, but also by how balanced, resilient, and connected our students feel. This workshop was a reminder that taking care of yourself—mentally and emotionally—is just as important as excelling academically.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Melanie for her warmth and wisdom, and to the UoC community for coming together to embrace mindfulness as a shared journey. 💜
