Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) has long instilled the passion and dedication for their profession amongst its students. Many of its Pharmacy students are ardent and active members of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society Young Pharmacist Chapter (MPS-YPC) and have helped organise events to uplift the pharmacy profession. Many CUCMS alumni members have gone on to achieve remarkable success and were thus recognised by MPS-YPC with special awards including the Most Dedicated Award, Most Enthusiastic Award and Most Analytical Award at a recent MPS-YPC Appreciation Night held on 3rd December 2016.
The MPS-YPC is a group of young, passionate and vibrant pharmacist. MPS-YPC plays an indispensable role to unite the passionate young pharmacists of Malaysia to help contribute towards shaping the future of pharmacy and healthcare in Malaysia. With the society’s conspicuous aim in mind, MPS-YPC actively engages the young pharmacists through activities such as conferences and workshops, in line with the current trends and technological advancement.
Ms. Sharon Ding Wensze bagged the MPS-YPC Most Dedicated Award. She was the chairperson of 1st MPS-YPC Multimedia Workshop 2016, chairperson of the MPS-YPC Social Dinner 2016, and the content lead of the inaugural MPS-YPC Malaysian Innovative Healthcare Symposium (MIHS) 2016. Sharon’s peers always reflect on her dedication and high sense of responsibility towards any projects that she undertakes.
Mr. John Yeo Keh Hau is yet another CUCMS Pharmacy alumnus who brought home the MPS-YPC Most Enthusiastic Award. John is an enthusiastic person, who is always full with ideas on how to improve YPC. He was the founder and program director for the inaugural MPS-YPC Malaysian Community Pharmacy Business Forum (MyCPBF) 2016 and sponsorship lead for the inaugural MPS-YPC Malaysian Innovative Healthcare Symposium (MIHS) 2016
Mr. Chong Chin Pin was selected for the MPS-YPC Most Analytical Award. He believes that analytics is the power of knowledge. Chong is currently pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at CUCMS, advocating advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge for better patients’ care. He is an active member of both MPS-YPC and Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA), he became a liaison in organising the PRP forum to help in sorting the PRP-posting crisis in 2016, which was hosted in CUCMS. He was an invited speaker for the MyPSA Pharmacy Graduate Forum and Career Fair, 2016.
All three award winners graduated with the CUCMS Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) in 2015. Established since the founding of the university, the Faculty of Pharmacy prides itself on being a leader in pharmacy education in Malaysia. The Faculty is the first in Malaysia to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy and is the only private pharmacy school to offer a Master in Clinical Pharmacy.
