IConBI 2027

To advance interdisciplinary discourse at the intersection of biological, psychological and social sciences within a rapidly evolving artificial intelligence landscape. The conference will examine how augmented humanity can contribute to biopsychosocial well-being and mental health, while critically considering the implications of technological advancement for individuals and society. It also aims to convene researchers, practitioners and policymakers from around the world to promote human-centred innovation, foster knowledge exchange and strengthen international academic collaboration and research networks.

The International Conference on Biopsychosocial Issues (IConBI) is an academic conference that brings together experts across health sciences, psychology, social sciences, and technology to examine human well-being through an integrated biopsychosocial lens.

This collaborative initiative was established through a partnership between University of Cyberjaya and Soegijapranata Catholic University (Semarang, Indonesia), together with Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands), De La Salle University Dasmariñas (Philippines), and Open University (Netherlands), reflecting a shared commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research and strengthening academic ties among the partner nations.

Following the success of the previous three editions, University of Cyberjaya has been selected to host the 4th IConBI in 2027, continuing the conference's tradition of rotating hosting responsibilities between partner institutions to broaden reach and deepen collaborative engagement across the region.

Building on this foundation, IConBI 2027 seeks to further expand its international network by welcoming keynote speakers, invited panelists, and delegates from universities and research institutions across ASEAN and beyond, and by creating structured networking sessions, roundtables, and collaborative workshops that facilitate joint research initiatives, staff and student exchange opportunities, and co-publication ventures between participating institutions.

The conference also aims to encourage the formation of a regional research consortium on biopsychosocial and technology-related issues, with IConBI serving as its recurring flagship event, while providing avenues for Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoAs) to be initiated or reinforced between represented institutions.

IConBI 2027 arrives at a pivotal moment. Artificial intelligence, digital connectivity, and emerging technologies are fundamentally reshaping how individuals think, feel, relate to one another, and heal. Against this backdrop, the conference offers a timely and vital platform to reimagine the biopsychosocial model for a new technological age, examining how progress in science and technology can be steered to advance, rather than undermine, human well-being.
