About the Centre
In line with the university’s 5-year Strategic Plan, the Centre for Graduate Studies, Research & Commercialisation was established in 2010 to provide and academically challenging prostgraduate programmes and encourage innovation through research, development and commercialization. This is in keeping with the university’s belief that institutions of higher learning should not only teach established knowledge but must also generate new knowledge.
The centre also serves postgraduate students and lecturers by providing assistance and training to enable them to excel academically and to be able to conduct high quality research. It administers 4 postgraduate research based programmes alongside another 3 coursework-based programmes that are managed directly by the Faculties.
The centre is a focal point for research at the university and it serves to ensure that there are sufficient research funding and resources available to drive the university’s research objectives. The centre is also responsible for driving the university’s research & commercialization partnerships both locally and on the international level.
About the Director
Dr. Basir Abidin
Currently the Director for Centre for Graduate Studies, University of Cyberjaya.
Have taught mathematics, statistics, computing subjects, and supervised postgraduate works in 29 years span of tertiary education profession. Research interest in risk prediction models, fuzzy inference systems, academic performance across levels of education, and computer aided instruction.
Have authored research articles in journals and book chapters, presented papers in research conferences, a member of panel reviewers of journals, and editor of UoC ‘Research Bulletin’.
