About the Centre
The Centre for Foundation, Languages and General Studies at University of Cyberjaya was set up to provide Language and General Studies or MQA required subjects for students enrolled across the other Faculties. The Centre also plays an important role in designing and developing bridging programmes for school leavers that have helped prepare them for university life. The Centre’s unique Pathfinder programme has been a major draw during the end of the year school holiday and has helped scores of schools students appreciate various career options.
In addition to general studies the Centre acts as an IELTS preparatory provider and offers several English Enhancement and IELTS Preparatory courses. The Centre also provides courses in other languages upon request.
The dedicated and highly experienced team at the Centre is committed to making this a center of excellence in teaching and learning through an efficient management and with a conducive environment to achieve its educational objectives.
About the Director
Associate Professor Eric Tang Cher Hing
Asst. Prof. Eric Tang Cher Hing have been teaching in degree and Pre-University programmes in UPM and UoC for more than 15 years. He is very passionate in engaging with students in teaching and learning activities, either indoor learning or outdoor jungle fieldtrip experiences. Nurturing the passion to care and holistic approach is always his principle and in his teaching for his students.
During his 11 years of his service in UoC, he has been always searching continuous improvement in his teaching skills and methods to ensure the effective learning by the students. Due to his diversity of teaching skills and methods, he has received the recognition by the University by awarding him, Teaching Excellence Award in Citra Ilmu Award 2016. Besides his achievement in teaching, he is also actively involved in research activities. Due to his efforts in research, he also received the Best Research Presenter Award and Best Poster Research Award in 2017.
